Jason Sinclair Astorquia
Born and raised in Twin Falls, Idaho, I originally trained at Yale University in Applied Mathematics. My professional life was primarily consumed with business operations, human resource management and benefits planning/administration, technology consulting & software engineering. Somehow, that entire world never quite fit and I forever found myself pursuing creative endeavors on the side and seeking to tune in to my ‘Truth.’
In this search I dabbled with writing music, poetry, screenplays and finally in November 2007, painting with acrylics on canvas. After much work developing my own process and enjoying positive feedback from the art community, in June of 2012 I transitioned to be a full-time working artist which helped me find what I was looking for in life.
I experiment in abstract nature, figures, colors, concepts, and process. Thematically, I consistently explore the boundaries of reality. I am an artist for change.
I have consistently enjoyed having my work on display at the Alki Arts Gallery since August of 2010. My work can also be found at the Seattle Design Center and in many private collections. My work leans towards architectural and is enjoyed in many commercial spaces in Seattle and the Bay Area.
